The Toronto Police went across Toronto raiding many weed dispensaries claiming lots of these places weren’t following the rules. Way before the rules were set in place rumours of the police raiding specific shops, but letting them still run their business have been circulating amongst the community, but yesterday they came for it all.
One owner says that he would always be in communication with the mayor and felt there were no problems, but while he was out and came back to his shop he was faced with this sad news.
As far as I know (so correct me if I am wrong) 25 stores won the cannibis lottery to sell and additionally, the 25 winners will have to submit a $50,000 letter of credit and a non-refundable $6,000 fee payment to the AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario)
This is a sad day in Toronto for those owners who invested into this business only to be robbed of their money.
