CANADIANS, TORONTONIANS, RAPTORS SUPPORTERS BEWARE.
The police are warning everyone and anyone who is interested in purchasing Raptors tickets to see the playoffs to be careful as there are a number of fraudulent companies who are running a ticket scam. Police have recently arrested a teen who was running this ticket scam by having people sign up memberships through his twitter account for “exclusive access”. The individuals who actually paid for the tickets to date have not received any tickets whatsoever.
The perpetrator is 17 years old and has been charged on 11 counts of fraud under $5,000 and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000. His name has been protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Anyone who might have gone through this experience has been encouraged to go to the police and file a report.
